2021 EWB-USA National Conference Awards
During the 2021 EWB-USA National Conference, the Central Houston Chapter was honored and privileged to be awarded both the Premier Professional Chapter and the Growing Stronger Together awards.
The Premier Chapter Award recognizes both an EWB-USA professional chapter which strives to meet the ideals of a successful EWB-USA chapter. Award criteria for a professional chapter includes:
- Chapter upholding excellence in the organization
- Exhibiting consistent and successful fundraising
- Engaging in thoughtful public relations and marketing efforts
- Robust regional participation and/or interaction with other EWB-USA chapters
- Making a positive impact with and for a community through one or more projects/programs
- Mentorship to student chapters
The Growing Stronger Together Award recognizes an EWB-USA Chapter that leverages EWB-USA resources as well as their own to strengthen their capacity to build a better world. This chapter emulates EWB-USA core values by pursuing EWB-USA’s mission through a dedication to build a better world and clear metrics to distinguish a commitment to improvement, in the EWB-USA network, chapter and in their projects. Awards are presented to chapters that:
- Have chapter volunteers participate in Volunteer Village by seeking support for themselves,sharing their expertise with others, and evidence of developing their skills by utilizing EWB-USA learning resources
- Strong representation or improvement of representation of their volunteers attending a national or regional conference event, regional volunteering or chapter learning opportunity this past year
- Evidence of supporting peer chapters including regional developmental work
- Clear metrics of growth within the chapter in: participation, fundraising, operations, or other key areas
The receipt of these awards would not have been possible without our chapter volunteers, who work to ensure the Central Houston Professional Chapter helps to lead and work with communities worldwide to build a better world! Let’s continue strong into 2022!
