2026 Board Voting Closes Dec. 31st

As a reminder, our current slate of officers will be done serving their term at the end of the month, so it’s time to vote on a new board! That’s where you come in. Next year’s proposed officer slate is below. 

Central Houston Chapter members – please vote yay or nay to the proposed slate by emailing communications@ewbhouston.org or by submitting your selection in the Central Houston Chapter Group’s Chatter feed in Volunteer Village.

We’d love to have the support. We can help train you on what the positions entail, but an estimated time commitment is listed with the description. Open positions include the following:

  • Outreach Chair – The duties of the Outreach Chair are to coordinate with the Executive Board to determine what materials should be presented to the public, to work with other local professional organizations and companies to organize public relations events and to oversee outreach activities. The Outreach Chair shall be the director of the Outreach Committee. Estimated time commitment 5 hours per month.
  • Volunteer (Membership) Coordinator – The duties of the Volunteer Coordinator shall be to provide the first point of contact for individuals interested in becoming chapter volunteers, maintain a master e-mail list, and maintain general chapter meeting attendance records. Estimated time commitment 8 hours per month.
  • Fundraising Chair– The duties of the Fundraising Chair shall be to organize fundraising events as required for the operation of the Chapter and for the implementation of specific projects. The Fundraising Chair will also approve project led fundraising events and assist with consistent branding and reporting across events. Estimated time commitment 2 hours per month plus 20 hours prior to event.
  • Quality Assurance (QA)/ Training Program Chair – The duties of the QA/Training Program Chair shall be to interface with the EWB-USA Quality management process and resources along with our project & team leads to ensure quality work and drive work process improvements. Training and qualification issues should be addressed to enhance the volunteers knowledge of given subjects, including technology, project management, cultural awareness, language, or health as related to current Chapter functions and EWB project process. As such, duties will require the creation/organization of content for meetings or communication means as beneficial to the chapter volunteers and EWB-USA’s mission. Estimated time commitment 4 hours per month.
  • University Liaison – The duties of the University Liaison shall be to establish and maintain communications and cooperation with the student chapters with which the Chapter has affiliations, including the coordination of Student Project Professional Mentors. The University Liaison shall be the official point of contact for Student Chapters. Estimated time commitment 5 hours per month.
  • Communications Chair– The duties of the Communications Chair are to coordinate with the Executive Board to determine what materials should be presented to the public. This officer works with the Webmaster to present information and keep the website up to date. Estimated time commitment 2 hours per month.
