The Peru team has its very own children’s book, “Paco the Pink Dolphin“, courtesy of longtime Peru team member and EWB-USA volunteer Sarah Huang who wrote and illustrated this wonderful picture storybook.

Inspired by she saw during two prior implementation trips to the communities of Payorote and Mariscal Castilla, Peru to install rainwater harvesting systems in each, Sarah wrote this story, loosely-derived from a local tale about the magical pink dolphins of the Amazon River basin, and hand-drew illustrations based on life in these and neighboring Peruvian communities. The book is now published and it is available for purchase!

In addition to being a great gift for your children, nieces, nephews, and your friends’ children, this is a book that you will also surely want for your personal library in order to better understand the sights and stories that EWB-USA Peru travel teams encounter when working with various communities in the Amazon River region. At a low price that won’t break the bank ($7.99 + taxes), you and your family can learn more about daily life in these communities in which EWB-USA volunteers.
