Come join us for a Happy Hour fundraiser to support the Central Houston Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Chapter’s India Project at Midtown’s 3rd Floor bar, 2303 Smith St. Ste 300 Houston, TX 77006.
PROJECT INFORMATION: Chipiya is a small community in Madhya Pradesh, India. Currently, the community uses fuel wood for heating and cooking purposes. However, over the past few years the community has experienced a higher demand for energy and the need to reduce the workload on its population in searching for fuel wood which is scarce due to deforestation. The community has reached out to Central Houston EWB Chapter, a non-profit group that provides engineering expertise to the world, for help in closing the gap between their needs and supply. The EWB Chipiya Project Team was able to propose a sustainable solution for the energy demand problem, a Biogas Plant, to utilize the community’s cow manure.
The funding from the happy hour will go towards our first assessment trip this December and material cost for the project. Please come out to support us and spread the word!
